Kia Forte: Air Cleaner Removal and Installation

Second generation YD (2014-2018) / Kia Forte TD 2014-2018 Service Manual / Engine Mechanical System / Intake And Exhaust System / Air Cleaner Removal and Installation

1.	Remove the engine cover.

2.	Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

3.	Remove the air duct (A).

4.	Disconnect the breather hose (B).

Disconnect the intake hose (C) and air cleaner assembly (D).

Tightening torque

Hose clamp :

2.9 ~ 4.9N.m (0.3 ~ 0.5kgf.m, 2.2 ~ 3.6lb-ft)

Air cleaner bolts :

3.9 ~ 5.9N.m (0.4 ~ 0.6kgf.m, 2.9 ~ 4.3lb-ft)

Install the air intake hose while the center of the mark of hose must be in line with the throttle body rib.

6.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

Air Cleaner Element Replacement

1.	Open the air cleaner cover by unhooking the clamps.

Replace the air cleaner element (A) with a new one.

If there are foreign substances inside the air cleaner assembly, wipe the inside of the air cleaner assembly and then replace the air cleaner element.

3.	Close the service cover by hooking the clamps.
